Unified API gateway for multiple LLM providers with OpenAI-compatible interface, failover, load balancing, and usage tracking

This is a 1-day-old project with zero adoption signals (0 stars, 0 forks, 0 velocity). The concept—a unified gateway for multiple LLM providers—is well-trodden ground with multiple established competitors (e.g., LiteLLM, Portkey, Anthropic's tool-use routing patterns). The feature set (failover, load balancing, usage tracking) describes commodity infrastructure patterns, not novel techniques. The OpenAI-compatible interface is now table stakes in the LLM ecosystem. Without unique positioning, code maturity, or community adoption, this is indistinguishable from dozens of similar projects at early stage. Frontier risk is HIGH because this solves a problem (provider abstraction, fallback logic) that OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google have clear incentive to own or embed in their platforms—and they have the distribution to ship it as a managed service. The defensibility is minimal: the code is easily reproducible by any competent team, and once a player with scale enters, they win on cost, reliability, and bundling. Recommend tracking only if: (1) repo gains 50+ stars and sustained velocity, or (2) README reveals a genuinely novel routing strategy or domain-specific optimization (e.g., context-window-aware batching, latency-optimized failover). Current state: tutorial/prototype, not investment-grade.
