Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system enabling conversational queries over custom datasets using LangChain, vector embeddings, and LLMs

This is a minimal reference implementation of standard RAG patterns using LangChain. With zero stars, zero forks, and zero velocity over 70 days, there is no adoption signal or community. The approach—vector embeddings + retrieval + LLM-based generation—is a well-established pattern commoditized by LangChain itself and directly competed by: (1) LangChain's own tutorials and templates, (2) LlamaIndex (formerly GPT Index), (3) built-in RAG features in OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google's platforms, and (4) countless similar hobby projects. The project appears to be a learning exercise or proof-of-concept with no novel architecture, dataset, or domain specialization. Frontier labs have already integrated RAG into their core offerings (e.g., OpenAI's retrieval plugins, Anthropic's file uploads) and would view this as illustrative but not defensible. The lack of any quantitative traction or technical differentiation places this firmly in tutorial/demo territory.
