PolicyAwareRAG is an MSc dissertation project, currently at a prototype stage with zero stars or forks. While the problem it addresses—GDPR compliance and privacy in RAG—is of critical enterprise importance, the project lacks any moat or community momentum. The core concept of a 'policy gateway' is being aggressively addressed by major infrastructure players. For example, NVIDIA's NeMo Guardrails, WhyLabs' LangKit, and integrated enterprise solutions from Microsoft Azure (AI Content Safety) and AWS (Bedrock Guardrails) offer similar or superior functionality. As a student project, its primary value is as a theoretical framework or reference implementation rather than a defensible software product. Any novel techniques discovered in the thesis are likely to be absorbed into larger orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex within months.
