Bio-inspired autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) design, simulation, and digital twin framework based on manatee locomotion mechanics

This is a brand-new project (1 day old) with zero stars, forks, or community signals. The core idea—biomimetic AUV design inspired by manatee locomotion—is novel in combination (bioinspired robotics + AUV engineering are established; manatee-specific application is niche). However, the project shows no evidence of adoption, deployment, or finished work; it reads as an early-stage design document or thesis foundation. The reference implementation phase combined with zero velocity suggests this is in active development but hasn't yet produced reusable artifacts. Defensibility is extremely low: there are no switching costs, no ecosystem lock-in, no community, and no data gravity. The work is academically interesting but trivially reproducible by any robotics/biomechanics lab. Frontier labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) have zero incentive to build a specialized AUV simulator—this is far too domain-specific and not adjacent to their core capabilities. Risk is low. The project could mature into something defensible if it produces a novel simulation framework, validated hardware design, or dataset, but presently it is a documentation artifact with theoretical value only.
