The project is a personal collection of well-known spectral indices (like NDVI, EVI, NDWI) used in remote sensing. While useful as a learning resource or a quick reference for specific formulas, it lacks any technical moat. The repository has almost no traction (1 star, 0 forks), and the functionality it provides is already heavily commoditized in the geospatial ecosystem. Dominant platforms like Google Earth Engine (GEE) and Microsoft Planetary Computer provide these indices out-of-the-box or via extremely well-maintained libraries like 'spyndex' (which catalogs hundreds of indices with standardized metadata). There is no novel algorithm or proprietary data involved. From a competitive standpoint, this is a 'reimplementation' of standard academic formulas that a developer would find in any introductory remote sensing textbook or via a quick search of the Index Database (IDB). Displacement is immediate as superior, production-grade alternatives already exist.
