MCP-Bastion attempts to address the security gap in Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), which currently lacks a robust native enterprise security layer. However, the project's defensive position is extremely weak. With only 1 star and no forks after nearly 50 days, it lacks the community traction necessary to become a standard. Qualitatively, 'Enterprise-Grade' security for a protocol that is still evolving is usually better served by the protocol creators themselves (Anthropic) or established API gateway providers (like Kong, Tyk, or Cloudflare). Anthropic is highly likely to release its own managed security features for MCP within Claude for Enterprise, making third-party security wrappers like this redundant. The project currently functions more as a proof-of-concept or a personal experiment than a viable infrastructure component. Investors or developers should expect this niche to be rapidly subsumed by platform-native security controls or mature enterprise proxy solutions.
