Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enabling AI assistants to search and interact with secondhand marketplaces (Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Depop, Poshmark)

This is a thin wrapper around existing marketplace APIs packaged as an MCP server. At 0 stars with a single fork and zero velocity over 45 days, it shows no adoption or community traction. The core value proposition—enabling AI assistants to search secondhand marketplaces—is precisely the type of capability that OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Microsoft are either building natively into their assistant platforms or will add as first-class integrations within months. MCP itself is an Anthropic standard, making this doubly vulnerable to platform absorption; Anthropic could bundle marketplace connectors directly into Claude's capabilities. The marketplace integrations themselves (Facebook, eBay, Depop, Poshmark) are commodity APIs with no technical moat. There is no defensibility through data, algorithms, or community. The project is a proof-of-concept that demonstrates feasibility but offers no reason for users to prefer it over native platform features once those exist. A well-resourced platform could replicate this in weeks. There is no incumbent marketplace aggregator that would acquire this; the marketplaces themselves compete and would not fund a unified search experience. Displacement is imminent once Claude or competing assistants add shopping/marketplace tools to their native capabilities.
