A multi-agent role-playing game (Mafia) where various LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini) interact in a 3D voxel environment to play against each other and a human player.
Defensibility
stars
1
AI-Mafia is a creative prototype that showcases the role-playing capabilities of frontier LLMs in a 3D environment. However, from a competitive intelligence standpoint, it lacks a technical moat. The defensibility is scored at a 2 because it is essentially a UI wrapper around standard LLM APIs with prompt-engineered logic for the game 'Mafia.' With 1 star and zero forks at age 0, it represents a personal experiment rather than a production-grade library or ecosystem. Frontier labs pose a high risk because they are increasingly focusing on 'agentic' workflows and multi-model orchestration; a feature like 'Agent Sandbox' from OpenAI or Google would immediately render this obsolete. Furthermore, platforms like Inworld AI or Convai provide much deeper infrastructure for AI NPCs in games, making it difficult for a standalone repo to capture market share. The displacement horizon is very short (6 months) as the 'LLMs playing games' niche is a common weekend project for developers and the code is easily replicated once the prompting strategy is known.
